Firstly, for those who are not totally familiar with the term, it may be best to explain exactly what ‘Attestation’ is. Attestation of documents is the legal witnessing and signing of formal documentation, used to verify qualification’s legitimacy to gain an international working visa. Many countries now request the Apostille and additional embassy legislation. This involves working with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Embassies, and Consulates. Countries such as the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, China, Vietnam, and Egypt have all made it a legal requirement to have the appropriate certificates and qualifications attested by the relative governing body. 

Gaining an international working visa will often result in being eligible for the benefits a working visa has to offer (Benefits such as tax-free salary, free housing and/or allowances, free travel, etc.). Each specific international school has its own requirements with regards to which particular documentation they require attested in order for them to process a working visa with the relative governing body. Typically, schools will only require your teaching qualification (and possibly graduate degree) to be attested to have your working visa processed. In some cases, schools may require additional documentation to be attested, depending on the region of the school, level of seniority of the position applied for, or type of benefit associated (tuition, fees, housing, etc.)
