The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and reflective practitioner with strong subject knowledge and a genuine love of language and literature. They will have experience planning and delivering engaging lessons for students aged 11–14, using creative strategies to enhance reading comprehension, analytical writing, and oral communication. A passion for interdisciplinary learning and the ability to connect language instruction to broader global themes will be essential. The successful candidate will bring a student-centred approach, a commitment to inquiry-based education, and an inclusive mindset that celebrates diverse voices and perspectives. Familiarity with international curricula or experience in an IB environment is an advantage, and the ability to support co-curricular English programmes such as drama, journalism, or debating will be highly regarded.

Educational and Experience (Requirements):

Bachelor’s Degree in English, English Literature, or a closely related subject

Recognised Teaching Qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, Teaching License, or equivalent)

Minimum of 3 years’ full-time teaching experience in Middle or Secondary School

Experience with international curricula or IB Middle Years Programme (preferred)

Desirable additional qualifications: (Master’s Degree, CELTA/TEFL/TESOL, EAL support experience, international school background)
