Educational and Experience (Requirements)

*Bachelor’s Degree in French Language, French Literature, and French History 

(Degree highly relative to subject area)

*PGCE with QTS, Valid US Teaching Licence, Bachelor of Education, Irish Teaching Council Registration, SACE etc.

(Recognised Teaching Qualification)

 *Candidates require a minimum of two years teaching experience

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a history of preparing and delivering outstanding lessons, encouraging students to communicate in French verbally during the time spent under their provision. The ideal candidate will assign interesting tasks and coordinate interesting group projects whilst evaluating and assessing their student’s work, and maintaining records. As well as promoting academic achievement, and interest within the field of the French Language, the ideal candidate will also pay attention to the overall intellectual, personal and social development of pupils in their care. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to communicate coherently with other members of the department, follow school policies and procedures, and work in cooperation as a member of the MFL Team.  As a member of the MFL Department, the ideal candidate will strive for academic excellence within the subject area and arouse a true interest in the subject area for their students. French Language teachers will demonstrate a true passion for the subject area and consistently find ways of delivering their expertise in ways that are varied, engaging, and interesting, utilizing a wealth of school resources.
